Dayara Bugyal Pickup Shifted From Dehradun To Haridwar

We are shifting the pickup for the Dayara Bugyal trek from Dehradun to Haridwar. Trekkers will now be picked up from the Haridwar Railway Station at 6:30 am.

We understand this may come as an unpleasant surprise to you if you have already booked your travel. But most of you will not have to change your travel plans.

Why have we changed the pick-up location?

The route from Dehradun to Raithal passes through a town called Dhanolti. In winter, there are chances of the roads at Dhanolti being blocked with high snow. The locals tell us it isn’t wise to take this route.

So we have shifted the pick-up point to Haridwar. From Haridwar, you drive through Rishikesh, Narendra Nagar, Chamba and straight into Uttarkashi, which is around 40 km from Raithal, the base camp. These roads are open almost throughout the year. So there’s no risk in taking this route.

You can see the route we are to follow in the map below.

What about your travel tickets?

Most of you will not have to cancel any of your bookings as the route doesn’t deviate much.

Are you coming by train?

If you have booked train tickets to Dehradun, you have it easy. Just get off at the Haridwar Railway Station, which will come a station or two before Dehradun. Every train going to Dehradun will pass through Haridwar, so you don’t have to cancel your ticket.

Have you booked a flight?

If you’ve booked flight tickets to Dehradun then you don’t have to worry either. The Jolly Grant Airport is closer to Rishikesh than to Dehradun itself. And all our cabs going from Haridwar will be going through Rishikesh. So hop onto a cab to Rishikesh and you will be picked up at the Nataraj Chowk in Rishikesh.

It will not take you more than 45 minutes to reach Rishikesh from the Dehradun Airport so plan your travel accordingly. The distance covered is around 16 km.

Have you booked a bus?

If you have booked a bus from Delhi to Dehradun, your best option is to cancel it right away and book a bus to Haridwar. You should get a full refund since you’re cancelling nearly a month or two in advance.

There are plenty of buses plying the Delhi-Haridwar route everyday. If you haven’t booked one yet you can do so once you reach Delhi or just a day or two in advance.

Our travel coordinator will meet you at Haridwar Railway Station. His number will be shared with you a few days before the trek.

Drop back to Haridwar

After the trek, you will be dropped back at the Haridwar Railway Station. If you are catching a flight back from Dehradun then get off at Rishikesh and take a cab to the airport.

If you have booked a train to Delhi board it from the Haridwar Railway Station.

At the Haridwar bus stop you will find a Volvo bus every hour and a state transport bus every half an hour going towards Delhi.

Drop in a comment if you have any doubts about your travel. Or call your Trek Coordinator, Vishnu Benne on +91 7022621274. He’ll help you out.
