Kedarkanta Trek Review By Bhavana Kundra
(Kedarkanta trek  – April 2012 Batch)

Trek! Well the dictionary meaning of it is a long, adventurous journey undertaken on foot in areas where common means of transport are generally not available. Never had I imagined my life to this adventurous that I would be able to survive in the wilderness for 4 days in a row!

The KK trek was a refreshing experience for me. The 4 day long trek started from the village of Sankri and spanning through the beautiful meadows at Juda the Talab and the fluffy snow it ended in Hargaon. As I was a first time trekker, never did I feel uncomfortable during the trek. The IndiaHikes team made sure that each one of us were at ease at any point in the trek.

The morning wake-up call used to happen with a warm cup of tea in bed. Tiripan (commonly called 53 Bhaiya) Bhaiya , Sanjay, Rajmohan Ji, each one of them made sure we had enough food before we started for the trek. We were literally stuffed with food at all times 😀

The evenings were occupied with fun games like dog in the bone or songs during the bonfire. Sliding on the snow had become our favourite timepass by the end of the trek!

The safety part was fully taken care by the IndiaHikes team and they made sure to provide each one of us special attention.

Overall, it was an awesome experience for me and my friend. Surviving into the wild, with no connection from the outer world was a new and refreshing experience. All thanks to Indiahikes!
