What is the average age group of the people who trek with Indiahikes?

Our trekkers are a mixed bunch. From the corners or the world to either ends of the timeline. Our youngest trekker is 6 years old and oldest is 65 years. The average age of our trekkers is 18-35. Most of them are from metro cities.

There is a steady increase in the number of women who are trekking with us. Nearly 33 percent of our trekkers are women.

If you are going on a difficult trek, you are likely to be accompanied by seasoned trekkers as well.

How many IH staff members will be there for a batch of 25 people?

There are four staff members for a group of 25 trekkers. Good question. You’ll be accompanied by a Trek Leader, who is an experienced trekker in the Himalayas and is proficient in handling medical emergencies if any. He will speak English and tie the team together. There will also be an Assistant Trek Leader with him – someone who is training to be a future trek leader.

Along with a Trek Leader will be two guides – one at the beginning of the group while trekking and one as the sweeper in the end.

Apart from these three main people, there will be cooks and helpers at every campsite that will manage your food, tents, equipment, etc.

I’m trekking solo. Is it ok?

Of course. Solo trekking is one of the most liberating activities. You meet new people and also enjoy some much needed solitude.

It is completely safe to trek solo. Our tents are separate for men and women, so you have nothing to worry about.

Your Trek Leader will play a number of games to break the ice between you and your trek mates. By the end of the trek, we guarantee that you will have a friend who has gone beyond a Facebook friend request.

Who from Indiahikes will accompany me on the trek?

Good question. On your trek, you’ll be accompanied by a Trek Leader, who is an experienced trekker in the Himalayas and is proficient in handling medical emergencies if any. He will speak English and tie the team together. There will also be an assistant trek leader with him – someone who is training to be a future trek leader.

We pride ourselves for the quality of our trek leaders. They are knowledgeable, intensively trained, are certified mountaineers and wilderness first responders. Frankly, they alone are enough reason to trek with Indiahikes.

Along with a Trek Leader will be two guides – one at the beginning of the group while trekking and one as the sweeper in the end. These guides are seasoned trekkers and are also trained in basic life support.

Apart from these four people, there will be cooks and helpers at every campsite that will manage your food, tents, equipment, etc.

Oh! And you’ll also see many mule men along with their mules.
