Last week, we had the privilege of hosting students and professionals from the Mensa Project on a trek to the breathtaking Dayara Bugyal and Deoriatal Chandrasila. Mensa is the world’s oldest and largest high IQ society and their India chapter works tirelessly to create unique growth opportunities for gifted individuals in India. The trek, designed as an experiential learning program, aimed to foster self-confidence, teamwork, and a deeper connection with nature among Mensa scholars and professionals. Komal Yadav, Vice President of Mensa India Dhruv Chapter, reflected on the profound impact of the journey: The 5-day trek was more than an adventure, but a deeply transformative experience. What we carry with us as we return home is more than just memories—it’s a sense of inspiration, motivation, and strength that will continue to guide us. We return with a sense of belonging—a home within ourselves, knowing that those who trek together, stay together.”
At InSOUL, safety is our top priority. Indiahikes carries the legacy of being India's largest and safest trekking organisation. This is a responsibility we uphold with great care. Our Trek Leaders are not only trained in the latest medical and safety protocols for high altitudes, but several of them who lead experiential learning programmes are certified as Wilderness First Responders (WFR) and NOLS certified, ensuring they are equipped to handle any situation in the mountains.
We conduct regular refresher courses and specialized training to maintain the highest safety standards. On our treks, our team includes technical guides, trek leaders and programme facilitators, all trained to manage emergencies effectively. We plan each trek with comprehensive Risk Assessment and Management plans, especially for student groups, ensuring every step is taken with utmost care.
Our outdoor experiential learning programmes are carefully designed as a balance between adventure, challenges and learning. Given the landscape where these challenges take place, it is natural for educational institutions, parents and teachers to have concerns of safety. Watch this video where Indiahikes founder, Arjun Majumdar explains the details of our 'People, Processes and Equipment' assure you of the safest experience for students.

Every moment spent outdoors empowers people with the skills, attitudes, and behaviours to succeed in life.
Away from traditional learning environments:
Children begin to view their own selves and abilities in a new light.
Young adults at a crossroads develop a stronger sense of self.
Working professionals realise that success isn’t only about getting ahead or domain expertise. It's in how well they work with others.
Immersive and accelerated learning
"Learning by doing" distinguishes Experiential Learning (EL) from other approaches. EL delves faster and deeper into aspects that otherwise take longer to emerge in classrooms, in boardrooms, or at home.
Real-world contexts
There are no simulations or role plays on an Experiential Learning trek. Our programme design ensures that every action and consequence is real.
The role of the facilitator
Expert facilitation is crucial to guiding participants toward sustained behavioural transformation. InSOUL facilitators refine and enhance participant learning, allowing them to revisit activities armed with new knowledge.
The Indiahikes commitment goes beyond organising and documenting treks. We’re dedicated to creating new avenues of learning and growth.
Over the years, we’ve seen how trekkers come back from the mountains with not just memories, but profound learnings.
Indiahikes envisioned programmes that would amplify these takeaways - where nature became the ultimate teacher, healer, and motivator.
The idea excited us. We knew we were onto something special and saw many people benefitting from the richness of the experience. With this vision as our north star, we took a leap of faith and InSOUL was born.
