Specially designed outdoor programmes for children aged 10-14
Himalayan Trekking Summer Camps are specially designed outdoor programmes for children aged 10–14. They become a lot more than treks. They become journeys that shape character, nurture independence, and help children discover a deeper connection with nature.
We can hardly think of another programme that combines the adventure of trekking with the life lessons of outdoor living in quite the same way. A regular summer holiday might entertain, but it rarely transforms. A Himalayan Trekking Summer Camp does. It brings together adventure, learning, and fun in a way that children remember for years.
The journey begins the moment children put on their backpacks and take their first steps on the trail. The path winds through whispering forests, filled with sunlight and bird calls. Sometimes the trail opens into meadows where children can run freely; sometimes it climbs gently uphill, teaching patience and perseverance. At every turn, the Himalayas reveal a new surprise — a stream to splash in, a patch of wildflowers, or a wide view of snow-dusted peaks in the distance.

Indiahikes Himalayan Summer Camp - Complete Program Information
We have always wanted children and their parents to be well-informed before they go on a trek. Knowledge is the difference between a safe trek and a dangerous one. It’s also the difference between a wholesome experience and a surficial experience.
Use this section to learn about the Indiahikes Trekking Summer Camps. It has in-depth information about each day of the trek, what to expect, and how you need to prepare for it. Many years of expertise have gone into this content. Don’t miss the 'Frequently Asked Questions' section at the end. You'll find that extremely useful.
The Indiahikes Spirit of Trekking
We're always ready for adventure
Trekking comes with uncertainty. Weather, terrain, and setbacks are part of the journey. We embrace them with resilience and openness—each challenge makes us stronger and more appreciative of nature's beauty.
We embrace low-noise trekking
We blend into nature, not the other way around. We avoid shouting, loud music, and noisy games. In silence, we hear birdsong, streams, and the wind—inviting peace, reflection, and a deeper connection with nature.
We protect the environment
We protect the environment by minimising waste, reusing resources, and picking up litter. We carry eco-bags, segregate waste, and inspire others to preserve trails. Sustainable trekking ensures these mountains remain beautiful for future generations.
We are self-sufficient
We carry our load as much as possible, manage our gear, and stay prepared for all situations. Self-sufficiency builds confidence, independence, and respect for fellow trekkers, support staff, and the trail itself.
We support each other
Trekking is not a solo act. We wait for each other, share burdens, and uplift teammates. By putting the group first, we build strong bonds and help everyone complete the trek joyfully.
We are fit and prepared
We train well before our treks. This helps us walk longer, handle emergencies, and contribute to the team. Fitness ensures we are never a burden and always ready to help when needed.
Treks in Himalayan Summer Camps 2026
Dayara Bugyal Trek
Dayara Bugyal is our best trek for children between 10 - 14 years of age. Demanding just the right amount of effort from children, it takes them through a variety of sceneries. Lovely oak and maple forests in the first section, endless alpine meadows in the next, and high summits surrounding them at the top.
Kuari Pass Trek
It offers some of Uttarakhand's most breathtaking mountain views, including the rare sight of Mt. Nanda Devi. From the start of the trek, you are greeted with incredible views of towering peaks, beautiful oak forests, and vast meadows. Kuari Pass trek is great for those exploring the Himalayas for the first time. It’s a moderate trek with amazing rewards.
Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek
Ali Bedni Bugyal stands out due to its sheer grandeur and big mountain views. This trek has almost everything you expect on a Himalayan trek— from grand mountain views to dense forest trails, stream crossings, unending meadows and beautiful campsites. The sight of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti jutting right out of the meadows is a sight to behold.
