Why Send Your Child on a Trekking Summer Camp?
Our Himalayan Trekking Summer Camps are specially designed outdoor programme for children aged 10–14. They become a lot more than treks. They become journeys that shape character, nurture independence, and help children discover a deeper connection with nature.
We can hardly think of another programme that combines the adventure of trekking with the life lessons of outdoor living in quite the same way. A regular summer holiday might entertain, but it rarely transforms. A Himalayan Trekking Summer Camp does. It brings together adventure, learning, and fun in a way that children remember for years.
We also have special Adventurous Journey programmes for 15–17-year-olds. They are perfect for completing the IAYP/Duke of Edinburgh Silver or Gold Award requirement. Just choose groups tagged ‘Adventurous Journey'.
The journey begins the moment children put on their backpacks and take their first steps on the trail. The path winds through whispering forests, filled with sunlight and bird calls. Sometimes the trail opens into meadows where children can run freely; sometimes it climbs gently uphill, teaching patience and perseverance. At every turn, the Himalayas reveal a new surprise — a stream to splash in, a patch of wildflowers, or a wide view of snow-dusted peaks in the distance.

The Indiahikes Spirit of Trekking
We're always ready for adventure
Trekking comes with uncertainty. Weather, terrain, and setbacks are part of the journey. We embrace them with resilience and openness—each challenge makes us stronger and more appreciative of nature's beauty.
We embrace low-noise trekking
We blend into nature, not the other way around. We avoid shouting, loud music, and noisy games. In silence, we hear birdsong, streams, and the wind—inviting peace, reflection, and a deeper connection with nature.
We protect the environment
We protect the environment by minimising waste, reusing resources, and picking up litter. We carry eco-bags, segregate waste, and inspire others to preserve trails. Sustainable trekking ensures these mountains remain beautiful for future generations.
We are self-sufficient
We carry our load as much as possible, manage our gear, and stay prepared for all situations. Self-sufficiency builds confidence, independence, and respect for fellow trekkers, support staff, and the trail itself.
We support each other
Trekking is not a solo act. We wait for each other, share burdens, and uplift teammates. By putting the group first, we build strong bonds and help everyone complete the trek joyfully.
We are fit and prepared
We train well before our treks. This helps us walk longer, handle emergencies, and contribute to the team. Fitness ensures we are never a burden and always ready to help when needed.
