Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is still a very under-discussed topic. But we want to keep our trekkers well-informed about the possibilities of getting AMS on a high altitude trek.

Most trekkers believe that once they have reached the highest point on the trek, they are not susceptible to AMS. But that’s a myth.

We often hear of trekkers getting AMS while coming down after a successful summit climb. The most likely scenario is that they’ve been ignoring some underlying symptoms of AMS that kicked up much before reaching the summit.
