Best time to do the Buran Ghati trek
Buran Ghati is a trek that's high on adventure. You cross a mountain pass. You rappel down an ice wall at 15,000 feet. You see a few of the grandest meadows also on this trek.
But to see all of this, you need to time your trek properly. So, in this article, we will discuss the best time to do the Buran Ghati Trek.
And the best time to do this trek is in two seasons.

Summer Season: Mid-May to End of June (sometimes first week of July)
The first season is between mid-May and the end of June. You can drag that to the first week of July as well. But this is one of the best seasons to do the trek.
This is when you'll actually get to see snow. A lot of snow. Especially while crossing the pass. You'll also get to see the ice wall properly formed. Hard ice, where you actually rappel down. And within this period, if I had to pick a small timeframe, I would pick the middle of June. That's the second week of June to be precise.

During this time, there's still snow on the trek. And there are flowers blooming in the meadows.
So it's like a beautiful mix of snow and greenery. You don't get to see that at any other time of the year.
But don’t bank only on that week. Our batches do get booked up pretty quickly.
Anytime from mid-May to the end of June, you'll get to see this lovely experience of greenery and snow.
Autumn Season: Mid-September to Mid-October
The next best season to do the trek is from mid-September to mid-October.
If you're going in this season, do the Buran Ghati Trek for the beautiful colours on the trek. Right from the base camp, you start with greenery. The forest trails are beautiful. Then you enter green meadows. And then the trail starts changing colour. As you go deeper into the valley and higher up the alpine zone, you start seeing oranges and yellows. And this is the only season where you get to see such colours.

With that, you have the clearest weather. You do not get such clear weather in summer. So, if you want a trek without rain, this is the season to do the trek.
But I have to tell you that this is not the season to see a lot of snow. Above 15,000 feet, it's quite difficult to predict how much snow is there. Or whether there is snow at all. If we've had a good monsoon that year, then there is likely to be snow on top near the Buran Ghati pass.
If there hasn't been a good monsoon, then there might not be too much snow. There might be a few patches of snow.
In September and October, the trek becomes a notch easier. That’s because of not too much snow. But the grandeur and the colours are still startling. So even if you plan your trek in Autumn, you lose absolutely nothing.

Avoid Other Times of the Year
Thus, the best seasons to do the Buran Ghati Trek are from Mid-May to end of June. And mid-September to mid-October. Any other time, there's either too much snow or too much rain.
So, time your trek only in these seasons. And you'll have a wonderful experience.
