Today, I have something very special for you.

I have 197 terrific local treks for you that you can do during the Coronavirus pandemic. These come strongly recommended by our trekkers. These are treks you can easily do on your own.

How did it come about?

Last week we had asked our community of trekkers to recommend local treks around their city.

What did they do?

They flooded us with recommendations and terrific ones at that — many that we had not heard of before! The whole exercise reinforced our belief that our community of trekkers is very vibrant. And also that India is full of trekking trails — no matter which city you are in, there’s a trekking trail that you can trek on your own.

Our team worked extra hard to collate these recommendations to make a superb guide for you — all in 4 days time!

So here’s presenting to you,

The Indiahikes Local Trek Guide, with a collection of a whopping 197 trek recommendations from all over the country.

It has all the quick info you need to do the trek — the region, duration, difficulty, the starting point of the trek (with the correct Google Maps location) and the trail type.

Also, for 47 of these treks, we have detailed Do-It-Yourself Guides available on our website as well. You’ll find links to the guides on the same page.

It’s as easy to use as a normal Excel sheet. It has treks arranged state wise. Every row has information about one trek. Make sure you scroll about to see all the information.

Click here for a full screen view of the guide.

Our vision is to make such detailed Do-It-Yourself Guides for all of these 197 treks in the near future.

We really want your help with that. If you are going on any of these treks, just drop us an email before you go on tws@indiahikes.com. We’ll show you how to document the trek. It will not only make your trek more fun, but it will give the trekking world a guide that will be treasured for long. Your name will be permanently recognised as the person behind the trek documentation.

Finally, we want to say a BIG thank you to all of you who gave us these recommendations. You have just taken trekking forward. Trekkers in future will thank you for letting them know of these wondrous treks — a place where for a brief moment they can reconnect with their mind, body and spirit.

If you have more trek recommendations, drop in a comment on this page. We’ll add it into our guide.

Of course, let us know your thoughts on the Indiahikes Local Trek Recommendation Guide. We want to add more layers to it, so any advice from you would be very helpful. Drop them in the comments box at the end of the guide.

Happy trekking in these Covid times! We hope these treks help you to find yourself for at least a day.
