We had some amazing entries with strikingly great perspectives of the treks for the February Contest.  Our judge Ravindra Joisa has picked some of the best out of them. The winning photographs are below. Congratulations! Keep trekking and keep inspiring us with lovely pictures!

WINNER!

 Aniruddha- Brahmatal Summit

A perfect shot at the summit, amongst the mightiest! The snow plume on top of Mt Trishul in the background, the depth and mountain range in the mid and background. The placement of girl in the foreground follows the rule of thirds and the action adds extra dramatic effects and makes it a heavenly place to visit.

1st Runner Up

Rohit Singla – Prashar Lake

With the terrain and the sky playing a magical fest of colors and the snow capped mountains adding a dash of awe to it, this shot best explains the lovely Prashar Lake trek. Not very often do we come across such well framed perspectives of the lake.

2nd Runner Up

Anurag Deherkar- Brahmatal

A capture of what your naked eye doesn’t notice! The image shows the beautiful Star trail/vortex in the night sky. The tents under the open sky makes it heavenly. I liked the post processed image considering the clarity and low light.

NOMINATIONS

1. Rohit Singla – Prashar Lake

We have seen several pictures of the Prashar Lake, but this is one angle we hadn’t seen too often. Love the drama in the dark skies and the clarity in the picture.

2. Subhashis Pal – Sandakphu

Sandakphu has some of the best long distance views along the trail. We love this shot for the fresh perspective it adds, with trekkers along the trail, aiming to reach higher grounds to get better views!

4.  Rushir Shah – Sandakphu

When the sun decided that the mountains should turn gold and horizons should make the dawn and dusk meet right there. What a picturesque scene to wake up to! Rushir has managed to capture the right moment!

5. Dhiraj Kamble – Sandakphu and Phalut

This perspective tells us a lot about the Sandakphu trek. The forests, the views, the long distances along mountain sides, it is all caught beautifully in this picture!

6. Ankit Gupta- Prashar Lake

That little tent with the human makes this a story-telling shot. How did he get there, what is on the other side of the walls of snow, so many curious aspects in this picture!
